The complete proposal timeline at a glance

The best surprise is simple for your partner and precise behind the scenes. This is the working sequence we use for proposals in Punta Cana.

1. Ideally 3–4 months before: Choose the package, date and hotel. A proposal may be possible with 24 hours’ notice, but only when the venue, team and requested services are available.
2. After the US$200 reservation: Confirm the contract, colors, guests, food restrictions, song and a believable reason for leaving the hotel. The reservation is applied to the service and is nonrefundable when the client cancels.
3. During the trip: Keep the ring in hand luggage, mute vendor notifications and do not share the plan with anyone who cannot keep the secret.
4. Weather Call when needed: When the outlook is unfavorable, we send a Weather Call the day before or about four hours before the event, depending on conditions. The client signs or gives an OK to continue in the non-dangerous conditions discussed. Safe rain can be accepted; extremely strong wind, cyclones, hurricanes and official coastal closures do not permit the event to proceed.

7. After the yes: The couple enjoys the setup and portrait session. The complete experience normally lasts 90–120 minutes, and the remaining balance is paid after the service before returning to the hotel.
8. After the event: A roughly five-minute vertical phone video can be delivered promptly. More than 70 edited, high-resolution photographs are normally delivered within 48 hours through Google Drive.

Choose a cover story your partner will believe

A romantic dinner and a couples photo session are the most reliable explanations because both justify dressing well, leaving at a precise time and visiting a beautiful place. Use the one that already fits your relationship. If formal dinners are unusual but your partner loves travel photos, the photo-session story will sound more natural.

Keep the explanation short. For dinner: “I reserved something special for us, so let’s dress nicely and leave early for sunset.” For photos: “I want good pictures from this trip; wear something you love.” Too many details, sudden rules or repeated reminders are more suspicious than a simple plan.

Tell us about anxiety, pregnancy, reduced mobility or anything that could make the arrival uncomfortable. The surprise never requires a blindfold. The coordinator can use verbal directions, a different walking route or a direct reveal instead.

Protect the ring and your digital trail

• Carry the ring in hand luggage, never in a checked suitcase.
• Use a compact ring box and keep it on your person; do not hand it to the driver or leave it in the vehicle.
• If your partner might notice a box in your pocket, conceal it securely in a shoe while getting ready, then move it privately to a zipped pocket before leaving.
• Mute WhatsApp previews, email notifications, calendar alerts and payment receipts connected to the proposal.
• Use a neutral contact name and avoid checking the itinerary while your partner can see the screen.

One person should be responsible for the ring. Multiple handoffs create avoidable risk.

Do not change hotels, pickup points or routes without telling the coordinator. A small itinerary change can expose the setup or cause the couple to arrive before the photographer and team are ready.

What privacy on a Punta Cana beach really means

We operate a controlled venue area with beachfront access, but the Dominican coastal strip remains public. No responsible planner should promise that the sea or entire beach will become legally private. Privacy comes from controlled access to the event area, careful timing, team positioning and lower foot traffic—not from closing the coastline.

Hotels and resorts may require written authorization, day passes or external-vendor fees. A professional setup should never arrive on a resort beach and install décor without confirming access. Ask where the setup will be, who controls the space and which fees are already included.

Weather Call and the covered alternative

What you receive after the proposal

• More than 70 professionally edited, high-resolution photographs; the final number may be 100 or more when there are additional strong images.
• Delivery within approximately 48 hours through a Google Drive link. Download or copy the gallery to your own storage; recovery is generally possible for more than one year, but permanent hosting is not guaranteed.
• RAW files at no charge when requested in advance. They are placed in a separate folder and must be downloaded promptly because we retain them for a maximum of three months.
• A vertical phone recording of the proposal, usually around five minutes, delivered promptly by WhatsApp or Google Drive. This is not a substitute for a separately contracted professional film.
• The selected song downloaded in advance and played through a speaker, with electrical backup available.

The mistakes that most often damage a surprise

• Hiring unrelated vendors without one person responsible for the entire timeline. Beautiful décor is not enough if the photographer arrives late or access was never authorized.
• Choosing the cheapest option without verifying the company, contract, real reviews and legal business information.
• Using a cover story that is out of character, telling too many relatives or leaving visible notifications enabled.
• Waiting until the final day of the vacation, which leaves no flexibility for severe weather or a missed flight.
• Arriving early “to be safe.” We may still be installing the setup; follow the confirmed pickup time instead.
• Assuming loose confetti or real candles will work on a beach. Wind, fire risk and environmental rules make safer alternatives preferable.

If you arrive late: protect the photographs

When some daylight remains, we shorten the toast and seated relaxation time to use that light for photographs. The proposal is still coordinated as one experience; a late arrival does not create extra daylight or extend the normal two-hour beach window.

After dark, we add lighting and explain that the images will be night photographs. They will not have the sunset background you may have expected. Tell the coordinator about a delay as soon as you know it, rather than waiting until arrival.

How the service team is backed up

The package contracts photography, video or music as a service, rather than a named individual performer. We work with regular collaborators whose work we know and check backup availability for the date. If the assigned professional cannot arrive, we coordinate a replacement from that established group.

Booking with 24 hours’ notice

The normal proposal offer can be available with 24 hours’ notice when the day is available. Short notice does not automatically mean a reduced package. Availability must be confirmed; an already occupied day cannot be promised. Booking three to four months ahead remains the recommended planning window.
